Epson TM-T20II Reviews
Hard to beat this value from the leader in receipt printers. While the 88 series is still the king of receipt printers, the T20II ready print is a fantastic lower price alternative. The lower cost Epson printer will work in almost all scenarios as the 88V it just doesn't have quite the same print speed, memory, and warranty. Take a look at the mPOS friendly versions if you are using the printer with iOS and Android. For use with a tablet you'll want to go with the Ethernet version and have it on the same network as your tablets.

Driver Epson Tm T 2011
Product Video TranscriptHi this is Travis with POSGuys dot com today we’re reviewing the Epson TM-T22 Receipt Printer or the TM20 II Ready print receipt printer. This is their mid-level receipt printer, it’s their cheaper thermal receipt printer, the best thermal printer they have is the TM-T88V. This is a step below speed wise and warranty wise but it’s still a great all around receipt printer for most retail set-ups.
Features on the ready print: you have your LED lights to tell you if there’s error or when you’re out of paper when the cover is open, etc. Drop in loading- just take your thermal receipt paper, drop it in, close it, and good to go. On/off switch is on the front and as we come around to the back, you can see the ports. On all versions of the ready print, there’s going to be a USB connection. This is the power plug adapter to the PS-180 Power supply, that’s a change from the previous model which had the power supply built in. Now it’s a separate power brick, it makes the unit a little smaller, it also allows you to replace one unit. Should the power supply fail, you can buy a new power supply where before if the power supply failed, then you’d have to replace the unit. Here’s your serial connection, they went back to using a 25 pin serial connection where it was a 9 pin serial connection on the previous model. Most setups are not going to use the serial printer, you’re only going to need the USB so buy the serial version but it doesn’t matter, you’re just not going to use the serial port. Your cash drawer port is located on the top and that’s how you’re going to connect your cash drawer. On other models it was down below and now, it’s up top here. Additionally there is a wall mount bracket for the printer, it screws on and you can mount on the back and that’s how you would attach it on the wall. You can also see those little cut outs here where you can put the additional set of rubber feet then if you wanted to mount it vertically, you’d have the paper feed out of it like so. You can do that as well, just two different mounting options for this printer.
So the TM-T20 II has about a thirty percent increase in print speed verse the previous model when printing receipts. Has a pretty good print speed and auto-cutter, it has the variable size font, it can print graphics, it can print barcodes, a good all-around print speed. The print speed is adequate compared to receipt printers from about 5 or 6 years ago, it’s as fast as any of them. Compared to the top receipt printers like the Epson TM-T885, it’s a bit slower, but unless you’re like a grocery store or a very high volume retail establishment, you probably don’t need maximum print speed- 200 millimeters per second is going to be fast enough.
The TM-22 is a great all-around receipt printer, especially if you’re a low volume retail establishment. It’s quiet, its decently fast, about 30 percent faster than the older TM-T20 receipt printer. The warranty is 2 years, which isn’t quite as good as the 4 year warranty on the TM-T88 V, the speed also isn’t quite as good, but it’s still a good all-around receipt printer and something you should consider if you want a better printer than an impact printer but you don’t want to spend the full price of the TM-T88 V.
