Freepbx Register Phone

Freepbx phone system 40

I've set up a FreePBX server that has a direct connection to the internet (no router/NAT). I've been able to connect it to a SIP trunk, and have created an extension for use with an IP phone. Thing is I can't get the IP phone (or any softphone software) to connect to the PBX.

Setting up a SIP phone to connect to our FreePBX extension is fairly straight forward. All phones set up are a little different, and you can normally do the config through the phone itself, or a web GUI. Normally the web GUI is easier but below is a guide to basic configuration of a Yealink T22P handset.

  1. Sangoma Phones Designed Exclusively for FreePBX & PBXact. Designed to work with FreePBX and PBXact, Sangoma IP phones are so smart you can quickly and easily use them right out of the box. Each phone in the series features industry standard Power over Ethernet (PoE), so no power cable or outlets required.
  2. The entity that purchased the phone from us will be notified by email of your claim and they will need to approve your request. Once approved you will receive a email that your co-ownership claim has been approved and you can now setup your redirect settings and you can now manage the phones redirect settings as outlined here.

Logging into Asterisk and doing a 'sip show peers' produces:

I've set SIP debugging to on and see the communication between the server and SIP trunk, but when I attempt to register a device for extension 200 I see nothing. I was seeing messages for a brief time that reported that the password was incorrect. Strange thing was it was after a long stretch of seeing nothing, and I'm not sure what, if anything, I did for it to get through.

I've tried disabling iptables on the server, and I've put my IP phone in my routers DMZ but still no luck.

In the end it was just that asterisk was listening on 5061, not 5060. I find that strange, as I didn't change any default port settings anywhere in FreePBX.

Latest version of FreePBX, can't get a Polycom Soundstation 7000 to register. On the FreePBX side, I keep getting SIP/2.0 401 Unauthorized. I copy and pasted the username and password straight from FreePBX. I had this issue with VXX phones so I don't use those any more, but I would like to use the 7000 conference phones. Any help in the right direction would be much appreciated. On the phone logs, I get Registration failed User: 203, Error Code:480 Temporarily not available.
